Dear Students of Shanti Yoga,
The time has come for me to take the next step on my spiritual path of yoga. I will be going to Queensland to live on the Gold Coast where my teacher, Shanti Gowans resides. I hope to visit Sydney from time to time but more importantly, why don't you visit me. Shantiji has a wonderful yoga centre in Southport offering classes that transform and heal.
There is also the Nirvana Wellness Retreat in the Gold Coast Hinterland, which I know some of you are intending to visit, one day soon I hope.
I wish Rebecca well in this exciting change in her life and hope you continue to enjoy Shanti Yoga at City Yoga Studio.

Hi – my name is Rebecca and I am currently working at an international corporation as market research and analytics manager. I have resigned from my job to take up this wonderful opportunity to teach yoga at the City Yoga Studio.
I have been studying Shanti Yoga under the guidance of Shanti Gowans for over 3 years and have been practising Yoga for more than 15 years.
Shanti Yoga has given me an immense sense of peace and wellbeing which has overflowed into all areas of my life.
I have learnt so much from Shantiji and I am really looking forward to taking over the studio from Hilary and seeing you all there.

Yoga stems from a rich tradition. It is a Sanskrit word that means joining together. This refers to joining together and directing all the powers of a human being: their body, breath, energy, mind, spirit and resting them in the essence of everything. It consists of the most powerful core principles, tools and practices you can use today to live a whole and conscious life. Acrobatics and circus postures are not yoga. It is not a question of who is more supple or whether you have amazing experiences; rather, it is about attaining a natural state of wellbeing and becoming at one with yourself. Yoga is learnt in steps, starting with simple processes and then later the methods become finer with the effects being more subtle. They take you through stages of being very alive and creative, to experiencing one-pointedness and deep inner calmness.
